Cascading Condos is a mixed-use building (residential and commercial) designed by Hennin Larsen Architects bordering the ring road surrounding the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in KSA.
Cascading Condos is composed of three ‘stacked’ volumes, which create a dynamic terraced canyon with the lowest point in the centre of the plot. The design embodies the movement from the massive scale of Riyadh to the more protected interior and exterior spaces of the building.
The southern part of the structure – the tower – reaches an extreme vertical elevation, representing a monumental focal point in the financial district. The unique terraces create indoor and outdoor spaces for residents, employees and visitors. In the northern, lower part of the building, the offices are situated, while the tower is designed to comprise residences. In the base, the public functions are connected to the other buildings in the district via the sequence of footbridges, Skywalks.
